ワークショップのお知らせ/Workshop in Finland, Helsinki MUJI

光栄な機会をいただいて、フィンランドにあるヘルシンキMUJI(無印良品)で鳥取の因州和紙を使った書のワークショップを行うことになりました。このワークショップは、同会場内で行われる、「Tottori – Crafts of an Uncrowded Japan」という鳥取の工芸を題材とした展覧会の一環となっております。他にも木工作家「木の椅子Jun」さんによる、木の椅子制作ワークショップも行われます。フィンランドの方々とお会いするのを楽しみにしています。詳細は下記となりますので、ご覧ください。

This exhibition introduces the traditional crafts of Tottori, Japan’s least populated prefecture. It is a region blessed with natural materials essential to craft—earth, wood, iron, and water.

“Join us at MUJI Kamppi Helsinki for an exclusive opportunity to experience the art of chair making from a true expert. Renowned woodcraft master Junsei Fujimoto is making a special visit from Tottori, Japan, to host this hands-on workshop as a part of exhibition “Tottori: Crafts of an Uncrowded Japan”.

Participants will build and take home their very own functional wood chair, crafted using a special glue-less design. The chair is a simple, easy-to-use design created by Junsei specifically for his workshop activities.

Japanese Calligraphy Workshop with Authentic Washi Paper

Join Natsuko Fukuhara, an experienced calligrapher and designer visiting from Japan, for a casual yet authentic calligraphy experience.

When: Saturday, 1st Nov & Sunday, 2nd Nov 12-16
Venue: MUJI Kamppi, Helsinki

About: 30 min drop-in sessions, available 12:00-16:00. No reservation needed.
Fee: €20/person (incl. VAT)

In this workshop, you will use genuine washi (Japanese paper) brought directly from Japan. The focus will be on Kana letters, a unique and flowing script specific to the Japanese writing system. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the basics in a relaxed setting.
